Artificial Turf and Lawns
Artificial turf is a man-made surface manufactured from synthetic materials, made to look like natural grass.  It has recently become very popular for residential use.  The quality and variety of synthetic grasses that are available has improved dramatically, and cities and water conservation organizations have begun realizing the value of artificial grass as a conservation measure. It also it uses less maintenance and less care.

Some Advantages
  • Suitable for roof gardens and swimming pool surrounds.
  • Artificial turf can be a better solution when the environment is particularly hostile to natural grass. An arid environment or one where there is little natural light are examples.
  • Ideal for holiday homes when maintenance of lawns is not practical.
  • A great solution for elderly homeowners who find the upkeep of lawns too much hard work.
  • Artificial turf pitches can last up to ten years.

High Pressure Cleaning

High pressure cleaning is advisable for all types of concrete.  Our skilled tradesmen can clean your concrete effectively without damaging the surfaces.  Your driveway, paths and patios will look as “good as new” after cleaning.  The cleaning of concrete surfaces will help prevent accidents due to slippery surfaces.

We can remove almost everything including, oil, dirt, fuels, algae, moss and weeds.

Concrete Protective Sealers
Sealing concrete is important to help prevent wear and tear on the surface.

It is a protective coating that usually gives a bit of sheen to the surface, bringing out the richness of the colors used in the decorative concrete.

Tinted sealers can be used to add some color to a slab, whether it is plain or decorative.

Sealing also prevents oils and grease penetrating into the surface of the driveway and aids in the cleaning process.  By regularly applying quality sealers every couple of years to your concrete you can prevent water, sunlight, and air from permeating your concrete and prevent problems such as fading and deterioration.  As an added benefit, sealing also repels oil spills and leaks and makes it much easier for you to sweep and clean your driveway surface.

Plain Concrete

It is recommended that once the surface has been smoothed with the float trowel, light brush strokes be made over the surface, transverse to the direction of travel, to improve traction once the concrete hardens. A soft bristle brush is fine for this job as the 'grooves' should be around 1mm in depth.

Examples of Textured Finishes

  • Float and Trowel finish: patterns made on Concrete with the help of wood, aluminum or steel floats look elegant.
  • Broom finish: if you want to provide a non-slip texture to your driveway then broom finish is best suited.
  • Rock Salt Finish: Here, the hard pieces of rock salt are pressed into the surface of new concrete and later the residue is either swept or washed away and a course texture is left

Also, in new plain concrete colorful pebbles can be planted at the time of finishing; after the top layer of cement paste is washed.  The pebbles become exposed, providing a colorful pebbled concrete area.  You can match or contrast the pebbles and the colorful concrete with your home exterior.

Stamped Concrete

Stamped Concrete is designed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile and even wood.  By imprinting patterns in freshly placed concrete, you can achieve the high-end look of stone, tile or brick pavement.
It is often a lower cost and much less maintenance. There are also a wide variety of colours and pattern choices.

The process is quite simple in that the concrete is poured, with or without color. During the final process, the concrete is stamped with your chosen pattern.

Stenciled Concrete

A high quality disposable stencil is used for creating different decorative effects. Stenciled concrete is very similar to stamped concrete.  The important difference is that this process utilizes disposable paper stencils to impart the pattern instead of rubber mats.

Stencils for concrete come in a wide array of patterns.  Because the stencils mask off the underlying surface, they leave behind realistic "mortar joints" the colour of the gray concrete base.

By applying a dry-shake color hardener to the exposed concrete before stencil removal, you'll get the appearance of individual stones, tiles or bricks that have been mortared together.

After the concrete sets sufficiently, the crack control joints are saw cut, and the slab is cleaned and sealed.

Stencilled concrete looks fabulous as a driveway and it is also commonly found in pool decks, patios, entrance ways, courtyards and footpaths.

Concrete Resurfacing

Resurfacing is a cost-effective way to dramatically enhance any concrete surface. All clean and structurally sound concrete surfaces can be improved by resurfacing. The process can also be applied to cover unsightly old pebblecrete or exposed aggregate.

The cement based system is then sprayed on to the surface to a 3mm thickness. There is almost no change to your existing levels, so it is perfect for existing concrete areas where levels are important.

Recently homeowners are utilizing this technique for low maintenance interior flooring.
